Signal Blocks

The Signal Blocks library provides elements ("blocks") for the creation of signal- and block-oriented models. This modeling approach is commonly used in system theory and control engineering for the description of dynamical systems. For each element there is a clear definition of quantities as input quantities or as output quantities respectively. All connections between these elements are unidirectional, e.g., they transmit values from signal outputs to signal inputs. There is no feedback on signal connections. This causal way of modeling is different from the modeling in the physically oriented libraries, where connections always transmit quantities in arbitrary directions and additionally take care about physical balance equations.
