Diagnostics and Usage Data

SimulationX can collect various data that can help understand usage patterns in order to identify priorities in the work with the software. This data is also useful for troubleshooting and software improvements in general. Usage data is always included in automatic crash reports that you can generate with SimulationX in case the program was closed improperly. If you want to change this setting, go to the program's options in the backstage area (FileOptionsPrivacy & Security).

The recorded usage data is saved to a log file holding the following information:

  • Computer configuration (OS version, RAM)
  • License type
  • Used features
  • Solver settings and simulation return codes
  • Used elements from SimulationX libraries (excluding any third-party libraries)
This data does not hold any personal information. SimulationX only creates a unique and anonymous identifier in the Windows registry when data is sent for the first time to ensure it is attributed correctly.
